Tokka- I Was So Terrified

He felt so light-headed... What had happened? The Councilman groaned, raising his head from the hard desk.

"Yukone," he grunted angrily when the memory of being bloodbended flashed before him. He remembered pounding the gavel, then losing control of his limbs before--

"Toph!" he shouted, jumping up from his chair to rush to the Chief of Police lying passed out on the ground. He could hear the people around him beginning to wake, but he pushed that aside. The only thing that mattered was the strong woman lying unconscious before him.

He shook her slightly, "Toph? Toph please wake up."

He could feel his heart pounding. Was she alright? He sighed in relief when he saw her sightless eyes flutter open.

"S-Sokka?" She asked in an almost inaudible voice.

"I'm right here." he said, taking her hand.

She stood up, with some help from the tan swordsmen.

"Are you alright Toph?"

She nodded timidly. He felt his chest tighten when he saw a tear run down her pale cheek. He moved towards her and wrapped his arms around her. She turned towards him and began to cry into his chest, clenching her teeth.

"I was so terrified..." she whispered so quietly so that only he could hear it. He could remember the horrified expression crossing her face when Yukone lifted her from the ground. He had felt so helpless watching the terrified Chief, forced into doing the will of a bloodbender. The last thing he remembered was seeing her collapse against the hard ground before he too fell unconscious.

He could feel anger pulsing through his veins.

He tightened his arms around her before muttering "It's alright. I'm here, you're safe," to which she only replied with more sobs.

That was the only time the metalbending officers of Republic City ever saw their great Chief in a state of weakness.

So while watching Episode 9 of The Legend of Korra, I could practically feel my heart break when I saw Toph's terrified face when Yukone bloodbended her. I thought of this after Aang took his bending away.

I felt like Toph couldn't have gone through being controlled with bloodbending to where she couldn't even see, without some sort of traumatic effect, even if she's the strongest woman alive. I mean, just looking at her face, you could tell she was terrified.

I figured something along the lines of her crying and Sokka comforting her would've happened, and this is what I came up with. I feel pretty proud of it.
